If anyone has had similar problems with their
Powerbook, please sign a petition that is being sent to Apple Computers.

http://www.petitiononline.com/pbdefect/petition.html

There is also a petition on the web about the defective screens. I do not know the web address, but it is on Petitiononline.com
too.

You do not have to have had a problem with
your PB to sign any of these petitions.

thank you

Do these petitions really work, these seem to crop up all of the time so I wonder if vendors (not just apple) really listen to them.

Also it would have been more helpful if you put what type of petition this is for either in the subject line or the body.

For anyone else its for issues related to the slot-loading mechanism of the optical drive. I guess some people have had problems with cds/dvds getting stuck. Personally I haven't seen this talked about here or at macworld but who knows it may be a widespread issue.

I don't know if corporations pay much attention to these petitions, but I guess it doesn't really hurt.

I've actually been experiencing trouble with the slot loading drive. It's off and on, but just yesterday I couldn't get a DVD to eject. After I finally got it to eject, I inserted a CD and had the same problem. The problem seems infrequent but it's definitely there. Sigh, I just hope that it doesn't get worse as time progresses.

Yeah, Like apple cares about your goofy petition these things don't work. Obviously they aren't leaving you guys in the dust, and are fixing the problem. Don't rush them let them do it right. I held it in before but you always wait a few months before buying a rev. If you jumped the gun you took a risk. However Apple will fix it.
