Hi folks...

First post on the forums...
I use my TiBook 867mhz for music applications... Logic Audio, Sibelius, etc. The one thing that drives me nuts, though, is the fan noise... which others have complained about on this forum. With the TiBook plugged in to wall for power, it takes very little CPU activity to get the first fan going... and then, once I get going with music stuff, both fans are blaring away.

The question is, is the behavior of the fan better with Panther? Some have stated that 'Books run cooler with Panther, which might suggest quiter operation... What has your experience been?

everytime i use a 3d application (cinema4d, gtkradiant) it turns on. also macromedia software turns the fan on. its terrible. i did not buy a titanium because of the fan-issue...

Can only speak for my TiBook (1GHz with Superdrive) and the fans does seem to run less often, especially with regular use (Mail, Web, Chat etc) while they of course run like crazy as soon as I do aything in Photoshop. So for the low processor jobs, yes the fans run less with Panther installed.
