i am switching from a pc to a little ibook g4 in about 12 hours. Unfortunately i was stupid enough to buy a creative jukebox zen (usb 2.0) which works great with my pc but there is no support for macs. Is it true there are pc emulators which would allow me to use the jukebox with the windows drivers available for it?
Just make sure you get Virtual PC 6. Earlier versions are very slow under OSX. Don't get me wrong VPC 6 isn't fast by any means. If you use VPC with Win 98 you should be fine. I use it with my iMac and iBook. 2000 and XP really slow the system down. Also, make sure you have plenty of memory. 256MB isn't enough for any kind of speed. I have VPC's RAM to the max at 512MB. That is really the only way to get any kind of good performance.
Buying and using VPC is going to suck - it is relatively expensive and s l o w. Just sell the Creative and get an iPod - even a used one will be a lot better than the Creative+VPC setup.
