Has anyone gotten the Apple 17 Studio Monitor CRT ADC working with the powerbook?

Hi, I phoned Apple about this question and they told me that it will work, so I go out and buy the DVI to ADC converter and its a no go.. the computer reads the extra display but there is no actual image..

I called Apple and they say it must be a defective adaptor I dont think so. Well I know the store I bought it from is just going to give me an exchange so this kinda sucks...

Any suggestions on what I can do?

actually i called apple agian, and they say even though the apple crt has an ADC connection it does not work with the converter... bummer.
