Hi.
I have a G3 800 Mhz now, and im loving the lack of noise. The fans are on very seldom.
Is this the same with the G4 or does the fans starts more often on this one?

It is MUCH more quiter. If you use HD extensively and continously, the fan will come on AFTER 3 hours, and for 10 minutes, ONLY, which makes NO sound. You can surely buy a G4 iBook.
The fans on the iBook EVEN come on fewer than the Powerbook's. (I used both 12"PB and 12" ibook)

On my new G4 12 inche iBook, I haven't even heard the fan kick in yet
The longest session I've had with it has been about four hours straight -- basically just surfing the Web. My wife watched a full DVD as well, and no noise.
Basically, the iBook is silent.

My 12" G4 iBook is silent. I had it on all day yesterday and never heard a peep out of it. Wish I could say the same for my Dell Inspiron.. it sounds like a jet landed in my room.

My 800 G4 iBook is silent. Even when decoding a DVD and working in Photoshop which taxes the hard drive. My old iBook 500 was noisy, but mainly do to a loud hard drive.
