Lucky indeed! I've just taken my 800MHz combo bought in December last year, in to be fixed.. some weird issue where things just froze and the screen flickered - then it wouldn't restart - then it KPed twice - then the screen just stayed black, until I took it in there, of course.. then it worked but after a few tries I managed to stop it working again, yay !
Anyway, enough about that. I don't really know what's wrong with it - they think the screen but I doubt it now. Either way, I'm fairly sure I won't get that lucky! I'll be more likely to get it back in worse condition with scratches, albeit fixed.
Bask in your glory!
Anyway, re the question, I'd say it would be easier for them to give you it in the box. I mean if they're going to do it, why not go all the way!

Apple is replacing the iBook, so you'll get the Panther CDs and the charger, the whole thing, really. Congratulations!
The new iBook G4 won't run on Jaguar. However, it's the iBook itself they're replacing, so I'd be tempted to keep Jaguar and the charger, especially on the off-chance that the charger will work with the G4 iBook. Look at it this way: If they were replacing it with a G3 iBook, you'd be keeping everything from the old iBook, so that's what I'd do. Take in the G3 iBook, I betcha they don't care about the other stuff. At most, you'll have to bring the extras in later?

The customer care representative that assisted me on Friday, Oct 31 told me I would be getting a G3 900 to replace the 800 G3 that had several bad logic boards /screens replaced. Perhaps he doesn't know the inventory and I will be rewarded with a two model upgrade like you.
I just received the FedEx label and sent my old unit back today. Actually, I am pleased either way, as I get a new, faster machine, more HD space and a fresh one year warranty. If they send me the G4, can I use my same ram as the G3?
When did they approve your replacement?

No. You need to get new PC2100, low-profile SODIMM RAM. The G3 iBooks use PC133.
