Hi all,
I have a fairly new 14', 900mmhz, 256ram ibook. Sometimes, it just slows right down, like when burning a disc or copying files from another computer. It slows down to about 2mb per minute and might stay that way for 2 or 5 minutes, then takes off again and wizzes through the job. Any clues??
Thanks in advance
Yockman

Type "top" in terminal often answer a lot of problems.
It could be the memory being swapped to the hard-drive because of the amount of ram you have.
The "pageouts" often tells a lot.

If you're less technically inclined, just open the Activity Monitor (in /Applications/Utilities) to see if anything in particular is hogging your computer's CPU power or RAM.
