Anyone using Panther 10.3 on a Lombard/Bronze laptop?
What are your specs? How is the speed?

I've got a Lombard 333Mhz 4GB and I'm wondering if I should take it to OSX...

Check discussion in OSX forum. I have a serious problem with failed video on a 333/512MB Lombard since installing Panther.

No Problems at all here running Panther on myh Lombard 333mhz. Very quick compared to Jaguar on the Lombard BUT it does use a larger portion of the hard drive as virtual memory compared to Jaguar. I would suggest you have at least 1GB free and preferably 2GB. I upgraded my HD a while back with a 20GB IBM so this has not really been an issue. I have had absolutely no video issues whatsoever- even starting with the 7B21 Beta of Panther many months back. It's been very solid. I highly suggest it over Jag if you are going to OS X on your Lombard. It will make it feel like a new machine - really.

Wanted to add that I'm running with 256MB of Ram. I suspect given my many attempts and problems with the correct Ram for the Lombard(it is very very picky about memory) that it is possible that poor Ram could be the cause for some with stability issues - or even a defective processor card. Some Lombards had bad L2 cache. Mine had a Processor issue a few months back as well. Replaced the Processor card(which I found on eBay for $30!) and it has not crashed once since.
