Okay, tell me if I'm **** out of luck or not...
The other night someone spilled water on the right side of my 15" TiBook right by the power button and the A/C port. Now, I freaked out and took the cover off and propped the sytem up and pryed off the bottom and had a fan blowing air on it to try and dry the components. The system automatically restarted later in the evening after the internal components had time to dry. Okay, we're looking good, so then I went on using the system feeling really lucky, and then I noticed that my batter was not getting a charge. So I unplugged the A/C adapter and then plugged it in again. My battery status indicator did not show the battery was getting any juice. So... after the battery died I have not been able to restart the unit. I'm going to assume this is just the internal power supply and not something more major becuase the system was running just fine until the battery drained, and I have no other way to charge the battery. I did try and reset the PMU, also. What's even worse is this probably falls into Apple's 3rd Tier for out of warranty repair which means $1,023.95! That's a new system! So if I send this in to Apple are they going to replace the internal power supply or will they call this a logic board problem and screw me?! Does my description sound accurate for a power supply problem?

Ouch...I'd guess it's just a dead power supply, but I wouldn't know for sure. The real bummer is that a call to AppleCare will cost $49 unless they schedule for you to send it in.

As an Apple Certified Technician (that doesn't work for Apple), I do find Apple's pricing a bit odd. If the problem isn't in your AC adapter, it's likely either the DC-in board or the logic board. The DC-in board is probably only about $20-ish. If you can take it to a non-Apple repair location, you will likely get a significantly better price. My guess is sub-$300 range for the DC-in board installation. It can vary based on pricing structures.
