Hi all,

Just wanted to let everone know that my 15" Albook is wicked, wicked, wicked. Love it to bits have had no probs. It`s my first mac and I am truly impressed. I can`t wait to get my hands on panther!!

One small thing I have noticed thogh is that the keays on the right side of the keyboard are a bit spongy or bouncy. It`s not dramtic but still noticeable. (I am the eternal perfectionist) It seems to happen when I press the K and surrounding keys. The other keys seem to move down slightly. Is this normal? I have noticed that when I use my whole hand and press all the keys down a couple of times it seems not to bounce for a short time but then returns later on? The other side is rock solid.

Can anyone shed any light on this at all?

Cheers, Tim

Call Applecare. I had the same problem and had to get the keyboard replaced (among other things). I should be getting it back tomorrow.

Hi all,

Bad news - I sent mine back to Apple Care three times for this keyboard issue. The third time they also replaced the top cover holding down the keyboard, and the hard drive underneath the area that was mushy. When I received it back the third time the keyboard was even worse - the mushy area was still there, and the left/right arrows in the lower right side of the keyboard were popping up when I pushed them like it was not attached to the computer. Unbelievable.

The Apple Store allowed me to trade up to the 17" (yes, I did pay the extra $400, but sooooo worth it!) The keyboard is super solid everywhere. There are no white spots. It is a beautiful machine!

If you cannot get over the keyboard (like me), you will need to go to a different Powerbook. Your keyboard issue will not be resolved. You can even re-produce the issue with any 15" in the Apple Store.

Good luck!

Mike
