i cant get my apple started with the screen to work also.

i turn my computer on, and it sounds like it is runing, but the screen is blank. i managed to get it on once, and all it did was flicker when it was on, but have yet to get it on again.

any advice??

i have some really important data on the apple i need for school too.

somebody please help =(

Sounds like it's either a problem with the cable carrying the video signal to the screen or the cable carrying power to the screen's backlight. If you are still under warranty, these repairs should be covered. I had the cable for the backlight go on my iBook G3/500 after it was out of warranty.

In the interim, plug your iBook into an external display. If the problem is one of the two listed above, an external display will work fine. you can then access your important data and send the iBook to Apple for repair or replacement.
