Hey guys, long time lurker, first time poster (love what you've done with the place!). I just recently stepped up to the big 17 with the Superdrive and assorted goodies and I love it. But sometimes I get these pangs of resorting to the 466 iBook.

Sure, the graphite was getting long in the tooth with the 10 gig HD and non-functional down arrow key, but it never needed a bag or sleeve and the handle came in handy when I needed to biff a sly-talking Mac basher (or carry it, as the case may be). I'd even demonstrate its robustness by dropping it on the floor or giving it a swift kick with my knee, to many people's astonishment. -The PB gets the velvet glove.

But what really gets me is that I've never found a better trackpad or tactile mouse button than on that computer. I realize the 17" is the world's best today (have you used those other laptops!) but the rectangular form of the PB and snow books makes it aggravating to type lying down and you have to press straight down on the mouse button to work it. Small complaints maybe, but if you haven't tried the ergonomics of a clamshell you should try it before writing it off.

Am I alone here in these complaints? Anyone out there have tendencies toward their classic?

Cory

PS, did you realize that if you put the PB to sleep with the screen up, the kb light sensors adjust the brightness of the sleep indicator- I just love Apple.

scream now!"
