Hello,
After a frustrating experience of owning an ibook G3 with the video going out and fighting with apple. I am going to sell my ibook to a local mac store. I am thinking of getting an ibook G4 because they look a lot studirer -sp?-. I was wondering if anyone was having any trouble with the video on the logic board going out by producing thin lines across the screen causing the machine to lock up. I really like to get a ibook G4, but I am afraid I'll have to go through what I went through with my ibook G3. Any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.
I've had my new G4 iBook for about two weeks now... I posted awhile back that I've had some video issues -- screen flickers, thin black lines cover the screen, and then everything reverts back to normal. The odd thing is that it doesn't lock up, and I've never had to reboot. This happened a few times over the span of two days last week.
Some folks reported back that this was the first symptom of the logic board going south

Hope that isn't the case, since I'm taking my iBook with me on a extended vacation. I plan on taking it in to the Apple Store when I get back just to be safe, as well as purchasing Apple Care for added insurance.
