I have a 12" AlBook (had it for about a month). When I go to "About this Mac" and click on the "More Info..." button, it says that my Bus speed is "133 Mhz". Is this correct? I thought that the ram in the AlBook was 266Mhz pc2100. And on a side note, I plan on adding another 512mb to my computer soon... is it more or less true that it doesn't matter what kind of ram I get as long as it is a 266mhz DDR pc2100 sodimm? Or will some brands specifically work better with the 12" AlBook?

Thanks!
Chris

The RAM for all the AluBooks are DDR RAM, which stands for "Double Data Rate". This means that its frequency is twice the frequency of the motherboard bus speed.

A good, reliable place for RAM is

Hope this helps.

Yes the bus speed on the 12" is 133 Mhz (the 15 and 17" is 167 Mhz).

Thanks for the advice. I see on Crucial that the PC2100 and PC2700 sodimms are priced very similarly. Is there any reason that I should go for one over the other? Perhaps the PC2700 because I could potentially use it at it's faster capability at a different computer in the future?

Thanks.

Yes, go for 2700 if possible.
