I have an iMac G4, had a PowerMac G4, an iBook G3 and currently a 17"Powerbook 1.33Ghz.
My question to the 17" owners is has anyone noticed that when resetting the NVRAM or the PRAM it takes a lot longer before you hear the familiar chime. My other Macs play the chime within seconds of each other while the holding down command/option/PR.
What is the 17" doing that takes longer? I had the 1GHZ 17"PB too and it was the same as the new 1.33Ghz.
Anyone tech savey have a tech answer?

I noticed this too with any mac designed to be non-os9 bootable. All the other mac's you have are os9 bootable.

Must be related to some boot rom particulars.

Yeah that makes sense. The bootable ROM is different now with the newer Macs now that OS9 is essentially gone.
