Can someone tell me what the life of the battery should be on a Ti with "normal" use? I know "normal" is defined by the user, but normal as in almost everyday with both the charger and battery used.

I've read that both 10.2.8 and Panther have killed battery life on powerbooks, but mine is a 667 that is 25 months old.

So, is it time for a new battery, or is this part of the Panther thing? The battery will charge, but seems to only hold the charge for a little over an hour - using maximum or power settings. Thanks for any insight.

Hey,,

i hope this helps,, i own the original TiBook (500MHz), i bought it on March 2001,, the battery life now is very short, i only get about one hour. I bought a new battery from newer tech (www.macsales.com) and now i can use my powerbook for 3 hours on full charge (airpot too).
Once you put your hand in the flame you can never be the same, there's a certain satisfaction in a little bit of pain.

Sounds like my batt. Thanks. Are you running 10.2.8 or Panther? Oh, and thanks for the link, too.

My Pismo batteries went after about 2.5 years of heavy use. So 25 months might be a little short, but only a little.

I have the 667 as well and about a month ago I replaced my battery because it only held ~ 55mins. Apparently they're only good for about 300 full charges before they start to die off. I got a new battery and now im getting around 3.5 hrs listening to music, chatting, taking notes etc...
Also, Panther actually upped my battery life.
