Ok I was flipping through the pages of my G4 iBook and I noticed in a warning box it says, "Do ot connect a digital telephone line to the modem; the wrong type of line will damage the modem." Well I have digital phone service from cox. What does that mean? I use the dailup for msn and I dont want to mess this up cause I have no warrenty.
A digital line might be what you'd find in a hotel. The digital phone service offered by cable companies uses existing lines in your house—it only becomes digital once it leaves your house. As long as you can use a normal telephone on the line (and have it work) it's safe to attach your iBook.
Here's a link to a faq on Cox's web site answering your question.
