OK, I've got a few so bare with me...

So I've had my AlPB 1.25 for a month now and love it, but I've had a few things happen that are making me crazy.

1. I have 2 512RAM (sorry don't know the manufacturer). Here's the funny thing... They both work on there own but they won't work together. It won't even turn on when I install both of them. But it works fine with either one of them and the installed 256 from Apple.

2. I have an SBC DSL connection that I use with a Lynksis wireless router with my airport extreme card for internet access. This had worked flawlessly with my last PB, but now it it's completely random. Sometimes it works just fine, other times it's like dial-up speed. If I plug it directly into the router through Ethernet it's fine again. And no, I don't think it's sunspots. FWIW, I also use a BT mouse.

PLEASE, any insight into either of these problems would be much appreciated. Even if it's just, "Ya, I got the same problem, but no answer."

Thank you.

As far as the RAM goes I have no clue, where did you get the two sticks from? That might have something to do with it.

As far as wireless is going, it is POSSIBLE that your bluetooth is messing around with your wireless router or something like that. Try using interface robustness. We've been having some problems with bluetooth and wireless on my campus.

I'll have to check out the RAM when I get off work. But the fact that both of them work on their own, but not together is strange.

What exactly does interface robustness do?

Thanks for the response.

Interface robustness boosts the signal strength at the expense of a small amount of bandwith. You can also try setting a dedicated channel for the airport base station and see if that does anything as well.

I am really new to wireless networking, just learning the ropes etc, and also helping my campus make the move to wireless at the same time.

Hope this helps.

The RAM thing is quite odd, to be honest. Is it possible they are of different speeds?

I'll have to try it with Interface Robustness on and off to see if there is any noticeable difference. My reception is fine BTW, as I use the PB at about only 12' from the Linksys.

The RAM is a strange situation, and they are the exact same. I'm trying to get a replacement soon, but I don't know which one to return as they both work, just not together.
