I already have a carrying bag, but it is unpadded. I'd love to get a cheap padded sleeve I can slip the iBook into, to then put in the larger unpadded laptop bag. I don't want to spend too much money. Anybody have any suggestions/links? Thanks!

I use the Incase Sleeve for my 12" iBook, which fits extremely well and provides a good amount of padding, as well as a number of pouches for things like cables and CDs.

What qualifies as cheap?
I've got an eagle creek for my 12" iBook. Very basic but fits good and it's convenient. I think it was $20 or $25, U.S. I don't know about UK; I'm not even sure they still make it.
Also, check out this one - looks good, but I haven't seen it live.

www.DuluthTrading.com sells tools and tool-bags and accessories. They've got a padded laptop case for US $17 - but it's 15"
If you do a search, you'll find a bunch of great bags; Waterfall; Willow Design (I've got one of those, too, for travel; rigid exterior) & others. A lot depends on what you want to spend.

I am using a Tucano Second Skin.
I usually have my iBook on me all the time in my backpack. The other thing I have on me almost always is my climbing equipment. The shoes, rope, harness and the myriad of other stuff means a lot of dirt and super fine magnesium powder everywhere.
So far the basic neoprene sleeve with a zipper halfway round has proven trustworthy. It is also touted to be water-resistant (the zipper as well).
I am happy with it. Got it for 19€ in Germany.

check out www.shinza.com and look at their zero shock sleeves. I've got one for my 12" iBook and it's awesome!
