It is my understanding that the plastic case acts more as an insulator than either the Al or Ti. The reason cold metal feels colder than cold plastic is becasue the metal more readily absorbs the heat from your body. knowing that it absorbs better, it must also dissapate better.
The reason your iBook may seem cooler is becasue the plastic is insulating you from the heat, whereas the AL or Ti are whisking it away from the CPU - where is counts.
