2 weeks out of my warranty and I plug in adaptor and it doesn't work right.

I smell something...the wire is getting hot coming out of the adaptor.

I unplug it and change the plugs...from the mini-plug to the corded plug with ground.

Seems to be ok now...what's up?

I don't know . . . you better keep an eye on it and don't leave it plugged in for long when you're not in the room. Why? My adaptor got sooo hot the wire's white plastic covering began to melt at the point where it came out of the adaptor. I took it back and had it replaced under warranty. The replacement adaptor has been fine.

Apple replaced my adaptor...thankfully.

I think the early adaptors are defectively designed.

The wire melted one inch out of the adaptor where u start to wrap it around the two clips.
