Hi guys, hopefully someone can help me, sometimes when I cut off my machine, the screen gets a light blue tint to it before it cuts off. Only happened 3 times since I had it and it never happens when I put it to sleep. Is there anything to be concerned about? Has anyone else seen this before? Otherwise, the whole machine handles perfectly. Maybe just a weird screen anomaly? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I wish i could give you more info, but if you find out, let me know, because my 12" does the exact same thing. I don't recall if my other powerbooks did this under panther or not.

My PowerBooks and G5 does this under Panther. I think it's a 'normal' process.
 Mac Pro 8-Core 2.26GHz Xeon | 12GB RAM | 2.5TB HDD | ATI Radeon HD 4870 | 24" LED Cinema Display
 Mac mini [Unibody] 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo | 8GB RAM | 500GB Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid HDD | 24" LED Cinema Display
 MacBook Air 1.6GHz Core 2 Duo | 4GB RAM | 256GB SDD
Too many accessories to list...

when you shutdown in panther it fades the screen to either total blue or a blue tint of your background image. if this is what you're seeing and you're running panther then it's probably just that and is completely normal.

Hi Everyone,
My new 15" PB - 3 weeks old now and working beautifully - shipped with 10.2.7, so I took advantage of Apple's offer of an upgrade to Panther for £13.99. When running 10.2.7 and I shut down the screen went directly to black; the same result in sleep mode. Now since upgrading to Panther and when going to shut down, the screen does indeed go to a light blue opaque tint before shutting down completely. In sleep mode the screen goes directly to black. I agree, I think this may be a Panther trade mark!!

My machine (1 Ghz Aluminum book with Panther) does that when shutting down and from time to time when waking from sleep.

I agree, it has to be some kind of panther trademark.
