Is there much of a difference between the 2 processor speeds? Is it worth the extra money to go for the 1.25?

I know out of the box the 1.25 comes with the 512 ram, backlit keyboard and airport extreme card. But after adding all of that onto the 1ghz book, its still a tad bit cheaper. So basically, i just need to know if the extra .25 is noticably faster.

TIA.

I went for the 1Ghz in the end simply because I heard that there was not *much* of a noticeable speed difference. That, and I could upgrade the RAM and buy an airport extreme card for a lot cheaper than the difference between the 1 and the 1.25.

Ya, thats pretty much my exact thoughts. Thanks for the reply.

Anybody else?

I'm actually going to be using the book for a lot of Maya work. Anyone else use it for that much?

If so, how's it run on the 15" w/ 512mb ram?

You should always go by pure logic. If you have to question which one to get then always get the top of the line because you will always quietly yell at yourself for not going for the best. Also you are right, after adding all the extras on the 1Ghz that the 1.25Ghz has the difference will only be +/- U.S. $25.00 and it's "still" 1Ghz.
Both machines have plenty of power so that's not really the issue. The issue is if you are going to do future add-ons then why not just get the 1.25Ghz? And if you don't add the ALS for the screen and keyboard as a BTO you will not be able to add them later.
Besides the add-ons, it doesn't hurt to get the fastest processor available to accomodate current and future apps. Hope this helps.
