On my 1.25ghz Albook it seems as if I put the brightness bar down to one(can still see the screen fine) put hd to sleep when possible, screen going to sleep after 1 minute I get the best battery life. However the variable that I am not sure about is automatic versis reduced. Can you guys really tell a difference in performance when using either or? How much more battery life have you guys noticed using reduced over automatic, and what is the difference neccesarily. Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Thank you for your time.

i'm kinda curious about that too. i've always used reduced, but a tech support agent told me to use reduced with settings like yours when calibrating the battery, so maybe it makes a difference.

Personal preference. Try a few options to see what you like. When I know I am going to away from a power outlet for awhile I reduce brightness etc to increase battery longevity etc but most of the time I am at "full burn".

When you are finding you are not getting the battery life you want, reduce the ability of your machine...
