Hi!!! I'm running on os9.1 and i need to update it to a 9.2 for compatibility with a new soundcard. The question is: is the softs running on os 9.1 will be compatible? And is there a way to update the os without loosing all my installed softs, music and photos?

i cant remember any problems after updating to 9.2. but do an update not a clean install...

9.2.x is an updater only to the OS, it won't affect your data and files. Most applications wouldn't be affected either.

if u need compatibility, upgrade to 9.2.1, then to 9.2.2

upgrading the system will not affect other files on your mac...
