Quick newbie question. I picked up a used ibook G3 800 recently and it came w/ all the original disks. I also went out and bought panther and put that on it right away. Now I'm trying to run a game (Heroes of Might & Magic III) that needs OS9... Do ibooks come with OS9 as well? I can't quite tell from looking at the restore disks if it comes with the actual OS or just OS 9 apps. If it does come with OS 9, how would I go about getting that installed? If not, do I have to buy a copy of OS9 before I can run any OS 9 only apps?

Thanks!

The full OS 9 is on the Applications Restore Disk. I'm not sure how that is going to work with Panther since the disks were supplied for use with the Jaguar install disks. Just pop the App restore in and install OS 9. If it will not work you may have to reinstall Jag and go from there.

Go to your System Preferences and click on Start-up disk. OS 9 may already be installed. If it is you will see an OS 9.2.2 start up disk. Click on it and click restart.
