Hiya,

I've just recieved my 1.25ghz Powerbook (woo!), but it seems to only come with a Restore DVD, and no Mac OS X CD's.

This would be fine, except, I wish to both use things such as X11, which aren't installed by the Restore CD, and have a 10gig partition for Debian Linux.

I can get around the X11 issue (just install it from a real OS X CD), but the partitioning one has lost me. Is there anyway to either split an existing partition into two bits, or tell the Restore CD to only restore to so much of the hard drive/one existing partition?

If not, is there any disadvantage to using the usual retail OS X with this (that doesn't come with things such as iDVD, this does; I'm not sure if the OS/Drivers/OS9/etc are any different).

Worked it out, just had to boot up the restore CD by clicking on 'install OS X' after actually installing it.
