From this thread

IOBatteryInfo = ({"Voltage"=0,"Flags"=1,"Amperage"=-500,"Capacity"=10000,"Current"=0})
=more than dead battery

Last night I had just finished a ripping session (CD >> MP3's) and it came back to life. What gives?

Using X-charge I get these sort of messages....

970-01-01 15:10:36: Battery stopped charging (current charge = 89%)
1970-01-01 15:10:41: Battery started charging (current charge = 89%)
1970-01-01 15:14:26: Battery stopped charging (current charge = 90%)
1970-01-01 15:14:31: Battery started charging (current charge = 90%)
1970-01-01 15:15:21: Battery stopped charging (current charge = 91%)
1970-01-01 15:15:26: Battery started charging (current charge = 91%)
1970-01-01 15:17:21: Battery stopped charging (current charge = 91%)
1970-01-01 15:17:26: Battery started charging (current charge = 91%)
1970-01-01 15:25:16: Charger unplugged
1970-01-01 15:25:16: Battery stopped charging (current charge = 94%)
1970-01-01 15:25:46: Charger plugged
Now after ten or so minutes on battery the terminal is reading

"IOBatteryInfo" = ({"Voltage"=11709,"Flags"=4,"Amperage"=1098,"Capac ity"=3197,"Current"=2941})
Something is going on, but I'm not sure what. Damn happy that it looks like I don't have to shell out for a new battery, although there may or may not be a repair on the charging circuit on the horizon?

Any comments well appreciated.

ha.

the same happened on my end. I had this dead pimso batt that I thought I was going to have to trash for sure. I went from getting about 1h15 min reading to suddenly getting like 15mins.

Anyhow, I just kept it plugged - occaisionally unplugging to go print - quickly. The one day, after unplugging, I get that original reading + a touch more. 1h25 or so. Whoa... Not sure what happened. But I love it.

Your ibook battery is malfunctioning. Same thing happened to both my G3 ibooks 5 mos after purchase. Send them in to Apple for a replacement before your warranty runs out.

I just experienced one of those false "you are running on reserver power" warnings with a full battery in 10.3.1.

Just woke the iBook up, it's been asleep on battery for almost three days, battery charge reads 57%.
