After having my 12" ibook for a month, I decided to post a few of the minor annoyances I found. Just wondering if anyone else suffers from it too.

1. Upper bottom left panel creaks more and more.

2. Space button higher on the right side.

3. Creaks like crazy anywhere around the ports.

4. Upper top right coner creaks slightly.

5. Battery uneven and sticks out where the trackpad is.

6. Ibook doesnt always close.

7. Rubber feets falls off occasionally.

8. Speaker (or something) pops occasionally.

9. Underneath, there is a big round mark in the middle which is fairly noticable under most lighting condition.

10. Num lock light either cracked or put in diaganoly.

11. The panel just above the end(->) button creaks.

12. Impossible to get crud out around the trackpad.

13. Slight glow on the screen right above the iBook g4 logo.

14. The top casing and the monitor panel looks loose.

15. Scratches like a mother.........

16. Sweat from hand bad for top panel.

Luckily I'm no perfectionist so I dont care.
No gripes about the performance though. It's excellent!!

you sure it's not just the screw for unlocking the keyboard?

Wow. Sounds like a lot of creaks and noises. My 14" seems to be solidly constructed, without the creaks and pops. Every once in a while it doesn't close correctly, I think due to the thin screen protecter I lay inside. Otherwise solid.

I noticed these, but like you said it's not a big deal.

the num lock light is a clear screw to lock the keyboard down. I have noticed a few of those, nothing that detracts from the overall image though. Another thing I have noticed is on the screen bezel, left side there seems to be a slight bulge just above the half-way mark. Again, not complaining, love my iBook.
