15" AL Sizzle & Chud - Power Nap

Ok, I saw in another thread that the speaker sizzle disappears if I turn off powernap
Which I did and that annoying sizzle is now gone.

My question is what is the the powernap? The thread that references the powernap also mentions the fan may go on more with that option deselected.

PowerNap? Do you mean setting Processor Performance in the Energy Saver Pane of System Preferences, to reduced vs automatic or highest?

I found a little app called that seems to address the issueKeepSoundAwake , without changing any processor performance options.

No I mean the power nap setting in chud prefence pane. deselecting that increases the temprature which causes the fan to come on but it also eliminates the speaker sizzle.

I'm curious as to what that selection does.
