Hi, I'm running Panther 10.3.1 and i think I corrupted my U.S. keyboard layout file/data. It seems to be pointing to or configured as an asian keyboard. British works, but I'm not sure if there are some differences between it and U.S. Any way to fix it?

I must admit that I restarted while I had a package open (but I wasn't doing any editing, just trying to get familiar with the files there like I was with Mac OS 9). I did shutdown and perform a PMU reset (I did so because of the weird battery drop and the long delay in going to sleep (even after a restart).

I also didn't restart right away after installing that Safari patch (a lesson I learned with previous software installations (when a restart is required, do it then not later; problems may arise )).

The sleep issue actually hasn't gone away (and I'm not sure if I did the PMU reset correctly as my iBook is set to sycronize with a time server, therefore I can't tell by the wrong time indication).

Oh, my poor iBook. I even took the time to initialize the drive before installing Panther.

Note: I was having no at all for quite a while.

OK, I think I figured out the slow-to-sleep issue. Startup item.

Now that I've considered this, I probably should have posted this in the Mac OS X forum…

I've restarted a few times, and I was trying to post using the "#" character which is the "£" character with the British keyboard layout. I switched back to my "US" layout then decided to try the "+" key. It worked! Problem solved, although I don't know what caused it originally (or what fixed it).
