First, make sure the key is not broken (if so, go here). Toward the "front of the key" (the edge that faces away from you) on the bottom, there should be two little "C" shaped clamps, one on either side. Toward the back, there should be a pair of sockets that will attach to the little nubs on the ends of the bar on the doohickey (with the scissor-action) on the board. Once you get those back nubs hooked into the socket (put the key down just a bit in front of its position and slide it back; it should catch the little nubs with the sockets), you press down on the front of the key to make the clamps clamp down on the other little nubs. Make sure they line up! It is easy to break a key if you're not careful.
