so i've had a screen issue on my Ti 667 for about 5 months, where it suddenly goes crazy like bad tv reception/horizontal alignment and i cannot see anything unless i smack it a few times in the back or put a pen underneath it or other weird stuff to get it to stop.

i even recorded it with my camera to show apple.

i have apple care and they sent me a box to send it back but i have been worried about timing since the screens seem to be in short supply

BUT then the other day, when reaching for my dog, i knocked my poor PB off a low table and while it still works totally fine, it now has a crack in the plastic casing and the titanium is dented. it's looking a little worse for the wear (and i still have the lcd craziness issue)

is apple going to tell me that my warranty is void now? i'm not trying to rook anyone, i just had the screen problem before i dropped it, but i'm worried now... and it's my word against theirs.

thought i would ask for any guidance other than not to reach for dogs during laptop time.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are
missing.

You have my sympathy. They will immediately determine that the machine problem is due to the same accident which caused the scratch. If you are near one , take it into an Apple store and tell the genius on duty. You may find one who will help you and validate entitlement on warranty and send it in. Good luck

You have recorded data of it doing the problem before the drop, right? You should be fine.

Yes but does he have proof that it hadn't already been dropped by that point? If the video shows that the PB was not dropped at that point then you're ok. Otherwise you're screwed

Sucks, anyway be sure to bring it to a store like webb3201 said. Do NOT send it in. If you can talk to the store people you can probably get it fixed for free.

thanks for the advice!

my little QT movie, alas, does not show the laptop in pre-damage state, just the screen. so I can't prove that it was a problem before the cosmetic damage occurred. Dangit!

I will take to store, as suggested, and hope to get a sympathetic ear!

Thanks again.
