This may sound funny but it's true. Sometimes when I touch the trackpad on my iBook it will shock me. I was wondering if this is a problem that others have or just me. Also my iBook seems to be falling apart on the left front the top and bottom are lose and make a popping noise when I raise/lower my left hand. Is this normal? For now I took a piece of clear packing tape and taped the top and bottom down so that the popping noise was gone. Thanks for the help.

I haven't heard of a similar shocking problem... Sounds like a grounding problem or something. I'd take take it out for repairs.

My 700 is also suffering from the lower left corner problem.. It's quite annoying. My 500 never had this problem (not even after I took it apart and assembled it myself).

Any experiences on Apple repairing this popping problem? Will they fix it or just claim that it's working fine so just shut up

Yep, I called Apple and they said the shocking was probablly just because the air is so dry where I live. This makes sense because when I turn on the lamp I get shocked too, must be something no having to do with my iBook.

As for the left side cracking...I can't send my iBook off to them (don't live anyware near an Apple Store) because I need my iBook for finals this week. My solution to take clear packing tape and tape down the left side seems to work for now
