Does anyone happen to know if it's safe to use a PC2700 (DDR333) RAM chip in a 12" PB? I installed it and ran the Apple Hardware Test disc and there appear to be no qualms at all. I'm leaving it in for now, but if this could cause problems in the future, I would appreciate knowing. Thanks!

No problems. The machine just can't take advantage of the extra speed. You probably paid more than you needed to, unless you are thinking about a higher end machine in the future that requires PC2700 speed.

The pb12 revb owners manual actually recommends using pc2700, but most of us here think it was a typo since the 12in bus speed is only 133MHz (not 333Mhz). Anyway, I found a 512mb pc2700 stick at circuit city for $99, so pc2700 was actually cheaper for me. No problems under 10.2.7.

Thanks for the responses. I ordered the chip as what the company specified for the 12" PB. The cheapest deal I could find on dealram.com, so if it works and will continue to work, I'm happy with it. Thanks again.
