Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have a few questions. I still have another week before i purchase my first MAC which will be the 933Mhz G4 ibook. I am wondering what is the best avenue to take because i have a choice between getting a 2 or 3 year laptop plan with coverage for 2 screens and one battery from compusa or just getting the applecare. What is better though because i am new to mac and i was wondering what is required for the applecare registeration? With the compusa plan there is nothing needed just buy it but i am really curious about the applecare what are the requirements for it i heard you had ot have a business? And if this is true what can you do if you don't have one?

Anyone can buy AppleCare. It's $249 for the iBook. You don't have to buy it with the Mac, you can wait up to one year before you do it. If you buy an Apple screen with the iBook, you can include it too. (Not sure if this applies if you wait before you buy the plan.)

It also covers global repairs for portables. According to rumors, Apple is planning an AppleCare Plus option that would include "user stupidity" repairs too, not only Apple hardware/software problems.

You can read about Apple's support options here.

Edit: Actually, since you're a Florida resident, it seems you're right that only businesses can buy it. This is probably some little twist in Florida law.

Yeah it is a florida law twist and it is annoying to be in such a bind because the applecare would be the better buy for me seeing how i travel alot to the bahamas and the caribbean. Is there anyway around this problem?
