Alright, here's the thing:
I have a 15" Albook with Panther and the Battery Update installed and...

- I just got a new battery from apple, which I need to install
- I want to run repair disk
- I want to install Panther from scratch

In what order should I do these?

I will start working on this in about an hour or two, so the sooner the reply the better.

Thanks,
docholiday

I would repair disk, new battery, panther from scratch.

Thanks for the quick reply.

One more question: Wouldn't the fact that the new panther doesn't have the battery update affect the battery somehow?

That's why we suggest you install the new battery (in 2nd step) before reinstalling Panther. When you insert the new battery, your system will update the firmware in the batter. But let me warn you now, you new battery will be cap at 4.4mAh instead of anything higher. I received my new battery and I got 4.467mAh, after battery update, i always get 4.4mAh. Its a trade off, you either keep the slightly higher capacity or be in the bleeding edge on battery update. =D

No. Once you install Panther, just run Software Update and let it install everything.

The battery update will update any battery ever inserted.
