but well, you guys always help me, you guys are the best!!!

how do i make an exact copy of a disc, and how do i errase a cdrw????

i dont have any extra burning software like toast so thats out of the question. but if there's a freeware to help me, please tell

to erase a cdrw
bung it in your drive
then go into application, the the utilities folder
in there theres something called disk utility
if you select your disk on the left then the erase tab at the top
and there will be an option in there to erase it

with the burning thing
i just usually drag and drop everything to a folder and the desktop and then burn that
although theres probably a better way of doing it i just find it quick and easy
you could mess around with disk images and things but that takes longer

I don't think Tom's solution for copying duplicates everything e.g. if you try to copy something like a music CD or a System software install CD, the copy will probably not work - well not pefectly, I guess Apple cannot be seen to build duplication into their OS.
It will work for CDs you have created yourself.

Sorry I don't know of any free software which will make an exact duplicate, though Toast does it.

You could try FireStarter (see versiontracker) if you don't want to buy Toast - though it is donationware, not freeware. The Project Omega site does seem to be having problems at the moment - can't seem to get onto it.)
