After some extensive usage, my keyboard has started squeaking. It's kinda annoying, what can I do?

I have the squeaking, too, which I didn't have on my old iBook G3. I started a threat on this a couple of weeks ago which got a few replies, but no real suggestions other than that the squeaks would work themselves out. My squeaks are intermittent now. Some times lots of squeaks, other times none.

I would not use WD40 on my keyboard.

Don't use WD40 on any parts of your keyboard. WD40 is a solvent, not a lubricant (although yeah, people use it as a lubricant). Either way, it isn't meant for your keyboard. If you want to lubricate anything, use some a light grease, such as a silicone grease, on the metal bar joints under keys. Just put a little dollop on the ends of the bars where they make contact with the metal clips on the keyboard. They come from the factory with a small amount of this grease in place, but I guess it can work its way out.

I'm having a squeaky keyboard problem on my 1.5 GHz PowerBook G4, but I'm not going to mess with taking apart the keyboard to fix it. I only use the built-in keyboard when I'm not at home and the squeaking is infrequent enough that it doesn't drive me absolutely bonkers.
