Hey guys, i'm Roxy and i'm new here, just wanted to introduce myseld. Yup i'm a switcher, and so far i'm in love with my new 15' Albook 1.25 (i've been wanting one for a year ask my boyfriend : Minty Fresh ), The only thing i kinda regret about my powerbook is that now i have to buy a new printer cause my current one (lexmark 6150) isn't compatible with the mac, and my other Epson Stylus C82 just died on me after 4 1/2 months of use. Oh and i miss "right click".

In case you didn't know, ctrl + mouse click will give you a right click. It feels awkward at first but eventually you'll do it second nature.

Blackbook 13.3 Powerhouse 2 GB RAM
MacMini Dual Core 2 GB RAM (Sadly running Windows Most of the time)

Welcome Tantrum! And congrats to MintyFresh for regaining control over his TiBook Here's two tips:
  • As far as the right-click is concerned, download a copy of the fabulous SideTrack - it allows you to remap the "tap" action on your PB's trackpad to a right-click. Takes about 10 secs. to get used to and works like a charm. While you're at it, download uControl as well - these are the two essentials for PB owners
  • Regarding your Lexmark printer, if you haven't already done so check out the universal CUPS drivers that come with OS X as well as the Mac OS X pages on linuxprinting.org - there might be a driver out there.
Enjoy your PB + cheers,

eff

nice work on the switch. i did it about a year ago, to an ibook, and i am getting a new powerbook on saturday (i can't wait).

like everyone has said, ctrl+click for right click. ucontrol is good, you can add a modifier (such as fn) and then hold that and you can scroll with your trackpad. i heard sidetrack is good/better, but i have not tried that yet.

enjoy your powerbook and the world of mac

I am using the Belkin BT mouse. I got the best price at eCost; found using www.versiontracker.com One complaint I have about it is that when I am at work I keep lossing the mouse signal. I thought at frist it was the wireless peripherals I had for my shuttle PC right next to it, then I thought maybe the WiFi I had on the shuttle not being intergrated like it is on the mac. Turning both of these off disproved it. I don't know what it is right now. But at home it works without a hitch, so something must be interfering with it. I actually use the mouse under my PB as I have the iCurve and that is just how the deskspace works out, but I think that is reaching for straws. Set up is a different, if you get one do a search in the forums for it or email me and I'll send you the set up, it's not hard, just have to do it a little differently that using the mouse set up. I really like the mouse itself though.

Tantrum: Welcome and congrats on your new PowerBook. Sorry to hear that you'll need another printer. I would highly recommend the Canon S820. I got it for $69 refurbished at Fry's Electronics. But you should be able to find low prices if you search for it online. The great thing about this printer is that you only replace the ink cartridge that is empty not the entire thing, which helps alot!
