I have a G4 500mhz Tibook that is giving me some major difficulty as of the last few days. If it goes to sleep, is restarted or shut down it will not restart. I have managed to start it up 3 times in the last few days but have tried all today and it won't start.

The battery is charged and the power adapter works. To get it started those three times I did the command/ctrl/power key, I took out the battery and unplugged, I zapped the restart button, in various orders and multiple times and then all of a sudden it would start. Once it started I worked on it all day and ran it all night b/c I didn't want to shut it off.

Today I can't get it going no matter what. One thing I have noticed is that when I hit the power key it doesn't make the startup sound or do anything, but the number lock and caps lock keys will light up if I press them...??

Any suggestions...pleaaassse!!!

Thanks!

Try resetting the power manager. Remove battery, power source, remove keyboard, locate PM reset button at upper right under keyboard (small metal button). Hold down for a while, release, replace keyboard and battery and try to start.

Thanks slimmy. Is that the same as the reset button on the back of the PB? (I think so). If so I've already tried that and it doesn't seem to help....
