Anyone using these drives for their pb? I desperately need to get some extra space (my 20 gig is full on my rev b pb) and was looking at these two models from lacie. Has anyone had any problems with them and with their powerbooks? I'm gonna get my friend to pick it up for me in the states then bring it over here to Australia and I've been told that the warrenty is invalid here so I want to make sure that it works well.

I'm using a 200 gig d2 drive with my 12" PB. It's great, no complaints at all. The advantage of the d2 over the pocketdrive is that it's much cheaper, isn't it? Disadvantage being that it's not portable, but then I don't need it to be portable.

One thing: it'll connect happily to your PB out of the box, but if you plan on using a d2 drive with iMovie, you'll have to reformat it to HFS+ first.

Fully recommended here too. I'm on my second PocketDrive now, can't get enough of them. Obviously the price and capacity goes against the 'lil drives but for bus-power, portability AND the indestructive natures, I give them 5/5.

I have a 120GB Lacie D2 in my desk and a 80GB portable Lacie HD porsche design....

Beautiful design, not problems with them at all...

You can buy with a smile on your face

best regards

Pretty much everything from LaCie will be good. They have supported the Mac for many many years.

Thanks for the replies. Ended up getting the 160 gig d2 drive (no 120 gig ones on the shelf at the soho store). I should be getting it in a couple weeks (unless someone steals it in S. Africa, where it will be going to before coming here to Sydney).
