A coworker wants to get a 12" Powerbook but is not sure what to get the previous model available as refurbed on Apple.com or the new model.

It will be used for mostly email and web with some possible video editing. Now I know the 867 is probably good enough, but I'm wondering if someone has owned both and anything really stood out that would make the new one a must have... I wonder how much of a speed difference there is doing video and things like that.

They will not need the DVI port.

Thanks if anyone can help!

Well the New model has more built in memory 256Megs as opposed the the 128 of the previous model

The new Model also sports USB 2.0 as opposed to USB 1.1

The New model also has more L2 Cache. 512 as opposed to 256.

In video editing the more speed the better. It is painfully slow doing it on a slower machine.
