I just got a 15" Powerbook with a combo drive. Since I also just bought 2 Dell laptops with combo drives as well, I thought I'd try to save some money by making my own DVD burner.

I have a very nice Sony Firewire case from an old CD-R I had. I took it apart and got the CD-R out of there. I assume I can just pop a DVD+/-R in there.

I need to use DVD Studio Pro with my Powerbook. Will most DVD burners work?

I see LG and Pioneer ones out there for decent prices, around $110.
