Wow...thanks for the tip!
I have an oddball question:
I have a 500 mhz ibook which has a MUCH nicer outer shell (translucent acrylic with a white inner coat)
, keyboard (also a nicer white) and keyboard area which is silver.
I would be interested in buying a G4 iBook if I could swap my old keyboard, shell and keyboard area into the new ibook.
Is that possible, or does the new ibook have the slot loading cd drive now?
I really do not like the cheap plastic look of the current generation ibooks.

it's a slot load CD now... I don't mind the plastic really, it's not bad.

The new casing is different, but it's definitely solid. It feels well built. And the little new touches are nice (slot load, metal headphone jack, etc.). The casing is really nothing to get upset about.

I guess I'm the only one who likes the spongy feel of the original white ibook keyboard?
Its SO EASY to type on. I really like how it feels.
I used a 17" powerbook for a month and really strongly disliked the metal like keyboard..it just is so cold and unresponsive.

Well, if you really want a great keyboard experience, why not try the Apple Wireless Keyboard? It requires Bluetooth, but it's great for leaving at home or the office for use there with your iBook.
