Can someone help me. My beloved powerbook G3, firewire (pismo) hard drive has troubles. Techtool, Norton Utilities and DiskWarrior can't fix it (although I can now boot up and write you this message) !
Anyway, I'm just confused about which new hard drive I can buy. Are all internal notebook hard drives the same. What does ATA 100 ou 133 mean ? What about the RPM, is there a difference with 5400 and 7200 ?? Will they all work (or fit in my p-book ?). Can I just pick up any and just fit it in ?? Thanks a million for your help.

If you're still actively using it, it cant be completely dead. A reformat should fix whatever is the issue.

Well, yes, coolmacdude. I could reformat (didn't even think of that one). Thanks for the answer.
But while I'm at it, why not upgrade from my 6GB to maybe 30GB if it's possible. And that's why I have all those unanswered questions about my options to upgrade.

Well if you want to upgrade, sure that's great. You're post just sounded like you were only looking to do that because you had to.
