well, sent the 1.25 albook off for repair friday afternoon, and got it back today (tues). not bad, considering that's over a weekend/holiday. i sent it in for white spots, and mentioned less than ideal battery performance, and a little more heat than one would expect. they ended up replacing the screen (with a samsung, and screen only-not entire assymbly), the battery, the heatsink and fan (they said the fan was noisy...i never noticed it!). interesting that they replaced the heatsink, as they said the heat was within normal limits. anyway, glad to have it back so soon.
i'm guessing i should treat this battery as new right? charge it, drain it, and let it recharge over night? thanks for any insight.

well, i'm happy to report that the spots are gone, illumination seems pretty even, and battery life has gone up by over an hour! i'm at 3hrs 12min right now, and still going. that was with almost full illum, and a few apps running. much better than the 2hrs or less i was getting before. ahhh, glad to have it back.
