Just got my powerbook yesterday, for 1349 and to top that I got three year applecare for only $99. Total unit cost was $1560, and although its tuff to swallow that number for me (being a student and all) I just couldnt wait any longer. Its my first brand new Mac and I cant wait to fill it up with goodies, Now I know why you guys just tell people to go for it instead of playing the waiting game, thanks to all that helped me out with my questions, oh yeah......AND IM SORRY FOR THE LAST POST TOOKI BUT I WAS JUST TOO EXCITED TO SIT AROUND AND CHECK, MY BAD!!! just kidding and I promise It'll never happen again.

My girlfriend goes to UCLA and they have 3-year applecare there for 99 bux, and by there I mean the UCLA store. I know this is taking advantage of apple edu discount but I go to college, just not UCLA, so I dont feel too bad. You have to be a student or faculty member to be able to purchase with their discounts.

I just bought my cousin a 12" Powerbook for his early graduation gift. I bought it from Amazon where they are offering a $100.00 rebate, and charge no sales tax for shipments to California, so my total cost is $1493. Now I hope they ship it!

Do you know by any chance if it ships with Panther already installed? Also, until when is this $100 rebate valid? Sounds like a nice deal.

Amazon doesn't say Panther installed. Only OSX. I will go to the Apple store and pick up
update disks, if they are not included.
"Purchase a Apple Powerbook Notebook 12.1" M9009LL/A from Amazon.com between 1/19/04 and 02/01/04" Requests for rebates must be postmarked by 03/01/04.
By the way, it shipped today and arrive with free shipping on 1/27.

To tell you the truth at first I thought I was going to be down seeing how G5 or new revisions are just around the corner, but I love this thing. Soooooo easy to carry around and it handles tasks very well, im just glad that my first mac purchase was a pb, now I know how it feels. Lil warping in the front but I expected that, everything is just fantastic. Hard forking over 1600 bux in cash so I had my girlfriend give them the cash (sooooooo many things 1600 bux can buy!!!). Cant wait to post my setup.
