My Tibook was upgraded with the DVD firmware that allows it to burn DVD-RW and DVD-R at an increased rate. I began to use DVD backup and dvd2onex to backup some dvds. Now here comes the problem.

Recently, I've discovered that some of those dvds I burned gets "stuck" when watching the dvds. This doesn't occur immediately but further in the dvd movie. I can't figure out whether it is the increased burn rate or what. This problem even occurs when I burn at an 1x rate as I was trying to figure whether or not 2x was a unreliable burn rate. Toast doesn't issue a warning or burn error. When I try to re-rip the problem dvds with dvd backup an error occurs. Has anyone experienced any of these problems. I'm using Panther 10.3.2 and toast 6.0.3.

Side note, does anyone know of a program that rechecks or verifies a dvd after it has burned? Thanks in advance

Another question...do other users have problems burning through toast with buffer prevention on while doing other task with the mac such as browsing with safari or listening to itunes?

media being used: TDK 2x and apple 2x...both had problems

side note...has anyone seen warnings on tdk dvd-rw media labeled with a note against using 4x media with 2x burners...strange because this label was on a 2x case
