Hello. I am using Microsoft Entourage on my 1 GHz 1Book G4. I'm also running another program in the background called ThermographX, which is keeping a log of the 4 different temp sensors inside the iBook. I've noticed that when I have an html email selected and displayed in either the preview window or in a separate window, the temperature goes up. So I've started running Activity Monitor in the background as well to see if I could find out why. Whenever this particular type of email is selected and/or viewed, the cpu maxes out...and stays that way until I either close the email window or select a different window. This really didn't bother me until I was composing and email just a few minutes ago, and the entire time that I was writing this email, the cpu was maxed out again, and the temp shot up.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Either way, if anyone could explain to me why an email requires 100% of the cpu to display, that would be great.

Still glad I made the switch!!
I gotta have more cowbell.

Use Mail.app.... All Office components seems to be using CPU for nothing (same for word if 'check grammar while you type' option is active). Apple's Mail is very good and very fast... try to use it, and forget Entourage.
